BLURS

BLURS

Ongoing series of more or less abstract drawings. Undenyably inspired by color field paintings of the second half of the last millenium. Less by Rothko, way more by Vivian Springford and Jules Olitski.

Combination of machine drawing and manual hatching. While other people colo(u)r in Mandalas to relax, I hatch Polygons…..several thousands of them. It is very meditative 🙂
Between 9-24 hrs plotting and 10,5-22 hrs hatching each.

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black acrylic ink and colo(u)r pencils on Edition Dürer Tuscheblätter 200g (blur one) or fabriano accademia 200g drawing paper (blur two ff.).
89,5 x 42cm (35 x 16.5 in). Unique pieces.
